My summer playlist 2011

This is a challenge that I received from Sari. Actually this "a project" that we're doing together right now. Now, when the summer is coming closer and closer everyday it's nice to look back to the last summer by collecting all the best and most important songs together in one post. So, my lovely friends, here you go. This is my list.

1. Johanna Kurkela - Tahdon elää



 I was listening this a lot before I came to the US and also after it, especially during the rematch. "I wanna live in a way I don't have to regret when I'm old.." Somehow this song helped me to remember what I'm here for during the hard times.

2. Poju - Poika saunoo



For those of you that didn't know yet, Finland won the World Championships in ice hockey last May and for us it's extremely big thing. The whole country goes crazy when that happens. This was the most played song after the hockey final and it still plays in many pub. To me this song reminds about that absurd moment when Finland won. Yes, I'm one of those people who're watching sports from the tv almost too much.

3. Olavi Uusivirta feat. Anna Järvinen - Nuori ja Kaunis



This song brings the whole summer 2011 back to my mind. If you just can understand some Finnish, you'll realize why I love the lyrics and why I listened this way too much a year ago. My farewell party, all the pretty summer nights and days in Finland and also in here. I can almost feel the summer when I hear this song.


4. Jennifer Lopez feat Pitbull - On the Floor

This was playing in everywhere last summer. Where ever I was this came from the radio. It was playing at all those parties that I took part of before I left Finland. It was playing non-stop on the radio in here. My first host sons were crasy about this song and they were singing it all the time... Where was it playing and why it's so important to me, you name it!

5. Adele - Someone like you


Again, wherever I went this came from the radio. Actually this is still playing on the radio all the time! The first song that I learned the lyrics in the US.

6. Haloo Helsinki! - Maailman toisella puolen


"Daddy I'm here in the other side of the World and I'm singing ba ba da duba baba da duu pa da pa, Mommy don't be afraid of I'll take care of myself..." Many of you probably know the answer WHY this song is on the list. This is one of the songs I was listening a lot during the last summer.

7. Klamydia - Täynnä elämää (cover)


This is my "rematch song" number one. From this song I got enough courage to tell people that things in the forst family are not that good and that I want to go to rematch. This song also helped me to believe that whatever would happen next I'd survive and be proud of myself.

8. LMFAO - I'm sexy and I know it

PartyPartyParty. But this song belongs here also because my current host kids (even the 3-year-old) are singing this. They were singing this when I came here and they're sometimes still singing it.
